The Enchanted Way

I had a lovely time on Thursday, recording a slot for The Enchanted Way, (RTÉ Radio 1, Saturdays, 20.03), which describes itself as “the show drawn from the wide world of poetry.” Presenter Pat Boran, a fine poet himself, and producer Bernadette Comerford who is subbing for the show’s regular producer Seamus Hosey, made me feel comfortable and at ease. As Pat said, “You’re in your granny’s.” As you might guess from the November 7th entry, I was there because of my new book of poems, Dialogue in Fading Light.

The show is broadcast this evening at 20.03 (or if you prefer, 8.03pm), and is repeated tomorrow on the same channel at 14.30 (2.30pm), Irish time, obviously.

I’m not sure at what point it is posted on the web, but it will there more or less permanently under the heading Listen to the Latest Series. To listen to yours truly, click on Programme 12, 26 November, 2005.

You’ll need Real Audio on your computer, and I’m afraid you can’t keep a permanent copy on your computer — just in case the thought entered your head!

Previous interviewees on The Enchanted Way this season include Brendan Kennelly, James J. McAuley, and the Australian poet, Les Murray.
