That’s the evocative title of the new press release from Dedalus, highlighting a new departure in Irish publishing. Not only are there sound clips of Dedalus poets on the website (other publishers take note), but in what may be a unique departure, the first in a new series of online poetry readings. This first one recorded Pádraig J Daly at the launch of his new collection Clinging to the Myth, in the Damer Hall in Dublin on February 13 – introduced by Dedalus publisher Pat Boran.

This is a delight, especially for someone like me, who might want to go to the launch but sometimes can’t, as was the case with Pádraig’s launch.

The mp3 file (17 MB) can be listened to with most regular web browsers,
or may be freely downloaded to the computer or audio player of your choice.

This first in a series of online book launch recordings
is both part of the growing archive of new writing from Dedalus
and an attempt to open the intimate room of poetry to everyone.
