The postal strike, now on hold, may have delayed some invites so if you are wondering when and where my new collection of verse, Dialogue in Fading Light, is to be launched, the answer is Hughes & Hughes Bookshop, Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, near the top of Grafton Street in Dublin, on Tuesday November 15.
It’s already well stocked in at least some shops in central Dublin, which is not only gratifying, it’s surprising, as poetry, we are told, doesn’t sell. I’m not sure if it’s yet in Books Upstairs in College Green, but as they are great supporters of poetry and all books Irish, I’m assuming it is. Unfortunately their new website isn’t yet ready. However, Kennys of Galway definitely have it on their website.
I see it is not yet available from
Amazon.co.uk but it can be ordered . I’m sure copies will be available from there in a week or so.

Is that enough for you? :>)

I keep forgetting to update my own entry at Irish Writers Online. Note to self: do it now!
More on the booklaunch anon. Meanwhile, full marks to publisher New Island Books, who this evening published The New Hennessey Book of Irish Fiction. I was all set to go, when the rain came down. Actually it came sideways as there was, and still is as I write, a very strong wind. A pity. I was looking forward to a congenial evening with friends as well as having a warm glow inside (it was hosted by Hennessey, the cognac people).

  • Amazon.co.uk insists that Dialogue in Fading Light will be published in October 2006. It’s kind of surreal.
