It isn’t often I attend an event to read just one poem, but that’s what I’ll be doing on Friday night, in support of the M3 Motorway and the Hill of Tara Litigation Fund. The venue is Drimnagh Castle, Dublin, on Friday March 24, 6pm to midnight. A lot of money needs to be [...]

Dialogue in Fading Light: First print run gone
In these chilled days of February, it was warming news to hear that Dialogue in Fading Light, my new and selected poems which was published in November, is now out of stock as far as the publisher is concerned.
I know there are a few copies left in Books Upstairs in College Green, and there [...]
Quick Note
Just to say that I’m back up and running (insofar as a bacach like me can run) and my philipcasey.com email is back - for those who follow such important events.
I had a carefree time with my previous hosts for a number of years until December last, when the below-mentioned spam created havoc.
To cut [...]
Happy New Year and Apology
Happy New Year!
Straight away, apologies to anyone who has been trying to contact me at my main email address at philipcasey.com
It’s been inoperable since mid-December, due to complex spam problems. It’s but one of several reasons I haven’t posted here for so long. Email is supposed to save one time, but in this case it [...]
The Enchanted Way, Encore
Apologies to anyone I misled about the repeat of my contribution to The Enchanted Way (see previous entry). Apparently there is a backlog of repeats, and my contribution will probably go out on Sunday week, ie December 11th, at 2.30pm (14.30), on RTÉ Radio 1, medium wave. That last bit, medium wave, is important.
If you [...]
The Enchanted Way
I had a lovely time on Thursday, recording a slot for The Enchanted Way, (RTÉ Radio 1, Saturdays, 20.03), which describes itself as “the show drawn from the wide world of poetry.” Presenter Pat Boran, a fine poet himself, and producer Bernadette Comerford who is subbing for the show’s regular producer Seamus Hosey, made [...]
Dialogue in Fading Light Booklaunch
The postal strike, now on hold, may have delayed some invites so if you are wondering when and where my new collection of verse, Dialogue in Fading Light, is to be launched, the answer is Hughes & Hughes Bookshop, Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, near the top of Grafton Street in Dublin, on Tuesday [...]
Sorry No Reply
To all my backlogged email correspondents, in case you’re wondering why I haven’t replied, I’ve RSI - too much typing. So sorry about that. Will catch up when I can.
Anyone got a cure for RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury)?
Éigse Michael Hartnett
Once again I’ve missed Éigse Michael Hartnett , held in his hometown of Newcastle West in Co Limerick from September 15-18th. I particularly wanted to go this year as both Michael’s daughter and son, Lara (with her family) and Niall were home from their foreign homes for the occasion.
Unfortunately I have not developed the [...]
Dialogue in Fading Light
Managed at last to finish new book of poems, Dialogue in Fading Light. It is now with its very patient editor Deirdre at New Island Books.
And to my astonishment, I’ve just had a look at the New Island site and it’s already in the catalogue with its very own ISBN, 1904301819.
That’s very nice!
OK, [...]
