John Banville wins the Man Booker Prize, for his 14th novel, The Sea (Picador), with his second nomination for the prize. His first nomination, for The Book of Evidence, was 14 years ago. Many congratulations to him.
His fellow Irishman, Sebastian Barry, also reached the final six with his extraordinary novel A Long, Long Way (Faber).
